MYwork

At CMS, I have learned a ton of things as an intern.
Of course producing the design work is very important, but learning how to communicate with others (everyone you are working with) is the most important to me. If you don’t understand what the other person is saying, then the overall outcome of the work is not going to be the best it can be (and is sent back and forth to the client who is awaiting approval, which is not fun at all). Anyways, I have been working with Illustrator CS3 way more than InDesign and Photoshop and Illustrator is a great Adobe program that enables you to manipulate almost anything. Vector art is my favorite to play around with. The following are things I have been doing from 8 am to 4 pm each day.
There were are many orders for Calendar Posters. This project can be one of the most frustrating things we design at CMS, but I really enjoy it for some reason. Here is an example of a calendar poster I recently designed.

The next pieces are mostly orientation posters that were in demand and most were rush orders, therefore; we had to make these posters as efficiently as possible.
Fortunately, every now and then you get the fun posters such as my Gary Allan concert poster. ;)

(These are the door knob hangers for the poster above. It’s not the same dimensions, so I had to organize the text to fit these smaller dimensions)

Along with posters, there are schools that want magnets, flyers, table tents etc., that look the same as the poster. So, these are some magnets I made.

This project is one of many “small, fast but still important” orders that CMS does. This is a keytag I made for a school and they wanted it to look like a “Self-Start” button.

This is one of my favorite projects. I made these stamps for a school and they doubled their order! It is exciting to know people all over the US will be seeing these on mail!

If I get lucky, I get a chance to make things all from scratch! :) So, I had fun making this layout for posters, flyers, magnets, etc.
